Women Who Love Too Much
Sofia and the Antoinettes
Warner Records UK/Atlantic Records US
WE SAY
Today’s Ones To Watch 2026 is east London-based Sofia & The Antoinettes, a startling new talent channelling what she describes as “existentialism in high heels” - crafting intimate portraits of unbalanced relationships through haunting melodies and vividly poetic lyricism. Drawing inspiration from Leonard Cohen, Lana Del Rey, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan and Sylvia Plath, she began turning love letters into songs with her late-2024 debut ‘Matthew’, followed by ‘Spiralling’, where her dramatic, emotionally charged writing instantly hooked us in. In September, Sofia dropped her stunning debut EP, 'Women Who Love Too Much', inspired by Robin Norwood’s 1985 classic and built around tender studies of love, loss and identity. Ahead of the release, Sofia unveiled the project through a Bar Doña residency in Stoke Newington, showcasing her theatrical vision with each performance themed around a different facet of female emotion. Support has come quickly, with backing from BBC Radio 1, a Featured Artist slot on BBC Introducing London, and Wonderland has championed her rise. She has even attended the V&A's Marie Antoinette exhibition alongside her heroine, Sofia Coppola, and Dita Von Teese. Perhaps most tellingly, she's managed by Nick Shymansky, who guides Lola Young and previously managed Amy Winehouse. We love the vivid, theatrical, diary-like confessional nature of her songs, alongside lush production and, of course, those vocals. With her powerful word-of-mouth live story building, Sofia & The Antoinettes looks set to become a quietly devastating new voice in alt-pop.
