WE SAY

The inaugural SXSW London kicks off on 2 June, where the music industry’s finest will be making their way to venues across Shoreditch for keynote speeches, panels, events, networking parties and music showcases. Ahead of this, we shall be spotlighting some of the standout and key acts performing at the music festival over the week. First up is British singer, songwriter and music producer Nao. Renowned for her distinctive and experimental blend of R&B, soul, funk, and electronic music, the east London artist has become a leading voice in alternative R&B since her breakthrough in 2014. Her debut album, ‘For All We Know’, earned her BRIT and MOBO nominations, as well as a BRIT Breakthrough Award. Follow-up LP, ‘Saturn’, brought her further accolades, including Mercury Prize and Grammy nominations, while her third album, ‘And Then Life Was Beautiful’, received a MOBO Award nod for Best R&B/Soul. Earlier this year, Nao released her fourth album, ‘Jupiter’, which included this uplifting and vibrant track. The album saw her continue to receive critical acclaim, further adding to her list of supporters, which includes Radio 1, 1Xtra, Spotify, The Guardian, NME, Clash, DIY, Pitchfork, The Line of Best Fit, Standard, and the Independent, to name just a few. Following a sold-out tour across Europe, the UK, and the US, Nao returns to east London for a special hometown performance in Shoreditch. Nao will perform as part of SXSW London at Shoreditch Town Hall on Wednesday 4 June at 10pm. Musical Festival Wristbands are available here.
