We’re Not The Same

Chloe Slater

AWAL Recordings

WE SAY

Songwriter and guitarist Chloe Slater is next up on our artists to watch at the Great Escape Festival next week. Based in Manchester, the 21 year old has had a breakthrough year, fast becoming one of the UK’s most compelling new voices in indie rock. Her blend of sharp social commentary with infectious melodies, raw emotion and blistering guitars has captivated tastemakers and built a dedicated Gen Z fanbase. Following her 2024 debut EP, ‘You Can’t Put A Price On Fun’, she returned earlier this year with the critically acclaimed second EP ‘Love Me Please’, which featured this anthemic gem. Pitchfork, NME, DIY, Dork, Rolling Stone UK, Clash, Wonderland, Forty-Five and more all praised the EP, while radio support for singles came from Radio 1, 6 Music, Radio X and BBC Introducing in Manchester/Solent. At DSPs, her music has featured extensively across editorial playlists at Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and YouTube Music. Having sold out her debut headline UK tour earlier this year and supported Alessi Rose on her UK and European tour, Chloe is set to perform at 25 festivals across seven countries this summer, starting with her Great Escape performance next Thursday at TGE Beach – The Deep End at 9.15pm. With her powerful explorations of youth disillusionment and anti-capitalist themes, Chloe Slater is carving out a space as a vital voice for her generation — and an artist you won’t want to miss.
