Tell Me

Louis Oliver

self release

WE SAY

We’ve been hearing plenty of good things about London singer-songwriter Louis Oliver over the past few months, and it’s easy to see why. In late November, the south-west London artist unveiled his debut single ‘Time Can Really Run Away’, following a year spent on the road building his live reputation playing the likes of Ones To Watch, The Social, AEG Rising, Soho Calling, Sound City and Live At Leeds. A storyteller at heart, Louis has been developing his sound at London W10’s Eastcote Studios, shaping a style that feels fully realised on ‘Tell Me’. Released yesterday (26 January) and produced once again by George Murphy (Mumford & Sons, Yungblud, Ellie Goulding), the track builds confidently on the foundations laid by his debut single and EP ‘Live at Eastcote’. More punchier and up-tempo, 'Tell Me’ opens on delicate piano and an emotionally rich vocal, before lifting into a gritty, indie-leaning, anthemic chorus. It's an immediately engaging listen, with a sound and vocal that could sit happily across Radio 1, Radio 2, 6 Music, Capital, and Heart, alongside pop, indie, and alternative playlists at DSPs. The Independent, Wonderland and Rolling Stone have already sung his praises on his debut, along with playlist additions at SoundCloud and Deezer, so expect more to follow suit. Some readers may already recognise Oliver from his earlier acting career, having appeared as the young Sherlock Holmes alongside Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman in the BBC’s Sherlock, with later roles in Midnight Mass (Netflix) and Inside Man (ITV). That grounding in narrative clearly informs his songwriting, with songs that draw the listener in and linger long after. ‘Tell Me’ marks the second in a run of singles set to arrive every two months, with further releases and live dates planned throughout 2026. One to watch.
