WE SAY

Northern Norwegian duo Konradsen return with the beautiful new single ‘Efficiency’. Written while the duo were composing for a short film rooted in Jenny’s home village, Storfjord, ‘Efficiency’ grew out of a request for something “slightly souly” in 6/8. Softly strummed guitars, unhurried percussion, and delicate strings leave space for guest vocals from Beharie, whose warm, expressive delivery deepens the song’s reflection on a love that endures through routine rather than drama. It’s intimate, patient, and quietly affecting. Following the recent collaboration 'Nick Of Time' with Gia Margaret, ‘Efficiency’ offers an early glimpse of Konradsen’s third album, due later this year. Previous albums saw the duo draw praise from Pitchfork, The Fader, Stereogum, Clash, and The Line Of Best Fit, among others, while debut 'Saints and Sebastian Stories' won a Norwegian Grammy. Primed for spins on 6 Music and additions to mellow playlists at DSPs, 'Efficiency' is a gorgeous introduction to a duo that crafts songs filled with tender storytelling and warm sounds. Utterly splendid.
