Soil To The Sun

WE SAY

Continuing our Ones To Watch 2026 is Cork-based indie-rock quartet Cliffords. We first fell for the band’s tales of love and heartbreak on their self-funded debut EP, ‘Strawberry Scented’, in 2024. In a busy 2025, the band signed to Soil To The Sun, Relentless Records’ new imprint, before rolling out a run of singles that culminated in May’s EP, ‘Salt of the Lee’. Their melody-rich, guitar-heavy blend of shoegaze and grunge, paired with Iona Lynch’s impassioned vocals, has earned praise from Billboard, Rolling Stone, DIY, Clash and Dork. On the live side, they've played two sold-out headline tours, including Cork City Hall and Dublin’s Academy, a packed-out 4,500-capacity opening slot on Glastonbury’s Greenpeace Stage, and a standout TV debut on BBC Two from the Glastonbury Treehouse Stage, hosted by Jo Whiley and Jack Saunders. Support slots with Kings of Leon and Queens of the Stone Age, alongside festival appearances at Reading & Leeds, Rock Werchter, Best Kept Secret, and Bludfest, have further underlined their growing live reputation - something we can personally vouch for after catching their rammed Great Escape set. Radio support has been strong, with airplay across BBC Radio 1, 6 Music, Radio X, and Radio 2, alongside significant DSP momentum via Apple Music Up Next Ireland and Spotify covers. The band have also picked up a Rolling Stone UK Play Next Award nomination, while ‘Bittersweet’ (also a RotD-featured track) landed at No.3 in DIY’s Top 10 Tracks of 2025. In November, Cliffords released 'Marsh', a grittier and more imposing release than before, with its crunching riffs, showcasing a louder, darker and more assured band. With slots at TRNSMT and All Together Now already confirmed, and after a year of statement shows and career-defining moments, 2026 already feels primed to be Cliffords’ full-throttle breakthrough, making them Ones To Watch.
