We’ve championed Caernarfon-born singer-songwriter CATTY ever since her striking debut 'Bella Donna' caught our attention in 2021. In the four years since, we’ve spotlighted her three more times, most recently tipping her as one of our Ones To Watch 2025. Released last week (8 August), 'Prized Possession' finds CATTY channelling her inner Lady Gaga on a feverish, full-throttle pop track surging with baroque drama. It’s a bold, impassioned plea to be loved with the same intensity you give, powered by pounding drums, crunching guitars and warped synths. Written in a week-long, wine-fuelled burst with collaborators Nathan and Juliette, the track blends gothic fairytale allure with the bite of a queer torch song. The track has already attracted tastemaker attention, earning Spotify editorial playlist placements alongside press support from NME, Popjustice, DIY, Clash, Dork Magazine and received its first BBC Radio 1 play last night on Jodie Bryant's Future Pop show. 'Prized Possession' is a gorgeous, theatrical and utterly compelling pop song.
