We say

We have a real treat to kick off your week from Caernarfon-born artist singer-songwriter CATTY. Having already made a name for herself as one half of Welsh pop duo Dusky Grey with over 35m streams of their first EP Communication, CATTY has just dropped this, her first solo release, and it’s an absolute banger. Oozing heavy lashings of electro-pop aesthetics with some serious Fleetwood Mac vibes and Nicks-esque vocals, Bella Donna was written with and produced by Jim Eliot (Kylie Minogue, Ellie Goulding, Olly Murs). Inspired by ’70s rock and the writers experience in pop music, the track sees CATTY put a queer feminine twist on the witchy rock woman narrative. Full of energy and some stonking hooks, Bella Donna would be perfect for driving and upbeat mood contextual playlists. Early radio support has come from BBC Radio Wales, but we reckon this is shoo-in for plays across BBC Introducing, 6 Music and Radio 1. She’ll be headed off to LA later this year to write more solo material, and we can’t wait to hear what she comes up with next.
