Lay There With You
The Altered Hours
WE SAY
Irish alt-rock and shoegaze band The Altered Hours return with ‘Lay There With You’, a slow-burning, cinematic duet that sets the tone for their upcoming self-titled third album, out 26 September via Pizza Pizza Records. Known for their immersive sound and raw live energy, the band leans into emotional depth here, weaving jangling guitars, Hammond organ swells, and hypnotic rhythms into a rich, yearning narrative. Recorded with revered analogue producer Julie McLarnon (New Order, Lankum), the track glows with warmth and texture. Released yesterday (3 June), the track has already earned praise from tastemakers like Clash, Hot Press, and The Most Radicalist, and feels poised for airplay across BBC 6 Music, Radio X, Virgin Radio, and specialist shows on Radio 2. A compelling first look at what's to come, "Lay There With You" is both a bold statement and a tender promise — The Altered Hours at their most resonant yet.
