WE SAY
Canadian band Talking Violet have been quietly shaping their own niche with their self-styled “dreamo” sound, a shimmering collision of shoegaze haze, grunge grit and dream-pop melody. Following last year's 'Everything At Once' album, 'In Your Mind' lands as another confident step forward for the Ontario band, marrying thick, swirling guitars with a poignant emotional core. Built around Jillian Goyeau's vulnerable performance, the song explores the helplessness of watching someone struggle while knowing love alone can't fix them. Produced by Justin Meli and mastered by Will Yip, the track balances upbeat instrumentation with darker undertones, creating that bittersweet tension that defines great shoegaze-influenced music. With past support from SiriusXM, alongside editorial backing from Spotify and Apple Music, 'In Your Mind' has all the right ingredients to resonate on UK airwaves – think 6 Music or Radio X – and beyond.
