I Love My Butt

Less sharp shooter than full-scale machine gun artillery, London MC Lady Lykez earned her stripes with the rapid-fire delivery of debut single Eurgh!, including a New Band of the Day from the Guardian, a BBC Introducing Track of the Week from 1Xtra and an invitation to support Eve in the UK. With a tip of the production hat to Missy Elliott, Lykez now mounts a rear-guard assault on the stick-thin supermodel dream with I Love My Butt, a celebration of womanly curves about 'working with what you got and flaunting it'. Butt is currently sitting on the B list at 1Xtra, with spot plays from Choice and a clutch of other specialist stations, while the twerk-tastic video, in which Lykez shows Miley Cyrus how it's really done, picked up a whopping 500k views in its first week. Fresh from performing a set for Rampage at Carnival this weekend, Lady Lykez embarks on a schools tour with youth crime charity Only Connect, performing and running workshops on issues such as body image and bullying.
