We say

Our last Ones To Watch 2026 for the week is rising London via Buckinghamshire six-piece Home Counties. Pulling inspiration from a wide spectrum of influences - early-2000s pop, the high-octane rush of Confidence Man, and the groove-led lineage of LCD Soundsystem and late 00s indie - the band has carved out a sound that’s both eclectic and unmistakably their own. We’ve followed their progress since first featuring them in 2022 with ‘Back To The 70s’, and more recently with ‘Humdrum’, the dance-driven title track from their second album, produced by Al Doyle (Hot Chip/LCD Soundsystem). Tastemaker support for their music has come from Radio 1, 6 Music, Apple 1, Spotify, NME, The Times, The Telegraph, DIY, Dork, Clash, The Line of Best Fit, Far Out, to name just a few. Plus, a high-profile sync on the EA Sports FC 25 soundtrack. Following a busy autumn UK tour promoting the new album, including a headline show at Scala, the band has just dropped festive single ‘Better Last Year (Home Counties For Christmas)’. With a sold-out Christmas show at The George Tavern behind them and main support for Franz Ferdinand on their UK tour in spring 2026, Home Counties are moving fast from cult favourites to full-scale breakout, and 'Humdrum' is the sound of a band confidently leaning into the chaos.
