Insomnia

We say
It’s been a month since we introduced you to the fantastic London trio Dance Lessons and their sublime jazz-tinged alt-pop track ‘Hurricane’. Ahead of their debut album, ‘Beginners’, released tomorrow (25 July), they have dropped this slickly produced slice of jazz-pop. Written in recognition to guitarist Nat’s lifelong battle with sleep, ‘Insomnia’ grooves through late-night introspection with a wink and a nod, threading restless lyricism through playful keys, shuffling drums, subtle funk bass, sax flourishes and shimmering synth lines. It’s gloriously rich, expansive and effortlessly cool. With every live show to date sold out and early champions including BBC Radio 1, The Fader, Clash and Complex behind them, Dance Lessons are fast becoming ones to watch. There is a lot to love here, and if you are interested in catching them live, they will headline The Waiting Room in London tomorrow.
