Baby, Cry

Impact date: Out now
ROTD featured date: Monday 24 April 2023

We say

British vocalist and songwriter Alice Auer continues to impress us with this bewitching jazz-touched ode Baby, Cry. Lifted from her upcoming EP of the same name, Baby, Cry was made with Conor Albert, James Smith and Seth Tackaberry and follows on from last month’s RotD-featured single Unknown. Anchored by a swaying rhythm section, Alice's ethereal vocal offers a welcoming and comforting tone as she sings about letting go of one’s emotions. Upon release last week, the track featured on Spotify’s UK NMF playlist. It is perfect for mellow and chilled contextual playlist additions. Touched with a nostalgic tone, we can also see this track chosen for sync opportunities in TV, films and ads. With Radio 1 support from Jack Saunders and Sian Eleri, alongside praise from The Independent, The Line of Best Fit and Clash, among others, it’s all shaping up rather nicely for the release of her EP on the 26 May. On the live front, Alice will be supporting Sam Wills at the Lafayette on 9 May and then, on 20 June, Alice will be holding an EP release party at Dalston Curve Garden.
