We’ve been championing the awkward pop sound of London’s Belot since the release of her seductive and undeniably cool track Bed in 2021. Last year, she dropped her Harmless Fun EP that drew support from BBC Radio 1's Jack Saunders, Clara Amfo and Sian Eleri, as well as at BBC Introducing. At DSPs, she has landed spots on editorial playlists at Spotify (Indie-pop, Chilled Vibes and All New Indie), Apple Music (All New Rock), Amazon Music (Proud) and Tidal (Future Sounds). Premiered on Clara Amfo’s Radio 1 show last week, Cool Whip is another dose of quirky, bright and catchy pop, laced with lashings of charm and groovy undertones. Further support has come from Jack Saunders, Spotify UK (NMF) and numerous online tastemakers. Following support slots with Cate Canning, Ellie Dixon, Pip Millet, Caity Baser and Dora Jar last year, Belot will be playing at The Courtyard Theatre on 3 June before performing at Mighty Hoopla festival the following day. One to watch.
