Direct, seductive and undeniably cool, Bed is the latest offering from 21 year old songwriter Belot. She grew up with her mum and older brother in north London listening to the sounds of Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, The Beach Boys and Al Green. Then, having taught herself guitar at the age of 8 and then Logic at 12, she headed off to the Brit School to formulate her own brand of music. Influenced by the likes of the Strokes, Phoenix, Flume, Alt-J, early Kanye West and Kill The Noise, she released her debut EP, Electric Blue, just as the pandemic started last year with no PR push. Now, back with this potent slab of bedroom pop about ‘hooking up’ with its ominous bassline and infectious vibe, it looks like she is ready to go up a few stages in her music career. The track has already caught the attention of the Line of Best Fit, When The Horn Blows, Earmilk and other blogs. Radio support has come from BBC London Introducing, while Spotify has recently added it to their New Dance Revolution editorial playlist. A modern pop anthem-in-the-making.
