Back in 2019 and 2020, we expressed how much County Armagh’s four-piece Hunkpapa impressed us with their contagious stadium rock vibes. Fast forward two years and frontman Weston is now embarking on a solo career as Weston Loney with this, his extraordinarily brilliant debut, Breaking Out. Released today (23 May), Breaking Out continues to evoke that stadium spirit of the Boss and the anthemic nature of the Killers, which was evident in his previous band but also hints of early U2 too. It’s a contagious offering that deserves your attention. Perfect for spins on Radio 1, Radio 2, 6 Music and Radio X, along with additions to DSPs’ rock playlists and new release programming this Friday.
