At the start of last month, we proudly featured Chameleon, the delicious debut from Carlow-based electro-pop artist Slaney. The track picked up massive support in her native Ireland, with radio support from likes of 2FM, Spin, FM104, KCLR and KFM, plus online praise from Nialler 9, Hotpress, Goldenplec and more. She is now back with her new single Love Is Like A Drug, and as promised, it’s a real gem, with a gorgeous pulsating pop beat, slick ethereal production and lush, honeyed vocals. It’s a rather refreshingly addictive slice of electronic pop with hints of early noughties Kylie Minogue that will have you humming along to it all day. Written with and produced by Michael Hopkins, Love Is Like A Drug featured on Spotify UK’s New Music Friday and New Pop editorial playlists, as well as picking up support across Irish tastemakers too.
