Two years ago, we introduced you to Kieran Polling, aka Kacia, through his gorgeous guitar-led alt-pop gem 'Plastic Straws'. Now 24, the rising artist, whose inspirations include The 1975 to No Rome, is ready to unveil his debut album 'What If Life Was A Movie', dropping tomorrow (17 Oct). Produced with Matt Fisher at Cave Studios it features mixes by Oli Jacobs (Taylor Swift, The 1975) and captures a coming-of-age journey through Kacia's early adventures. The singles leading up to release have already made waves, earning regular rotation on Mollie King's Radio 1 Future Pop show and BBC Introducing, while landing multiple Apple Music editorial playlist spots, including NMD, New In Pop, and Pop Chill. Kacia has also secured ‘Emerging Artists’ playlist support from Vevo, with Wonderland Magazine hailing him as “the next big thing in Alt-Pop". The final single, 'Feel It', arrives as a heartwarming ode to love, built on warm synths, soft percussion, and anthemic indie guitar riffs that showcase Kacia's signature sound. This Friday also brings the release of the album's accompanying short film, screening at Aspex Gallery Portsmouth, weaving together the Tom Knibbs visuals captured across the singles campaign. With tastemaker backing from Radio 1 and Apple Music already in place, Kacia's debut is something worthy of your time.
