Black Dahlia plunges listeners into a disorienting dreamscape with 'On The Run', the lead single from her ambitious concept album 'The Imposter', released last week. The experimental artist creates immersive, dreamlike worlds where music and performance collide. Tracing the journey of the album’s central wanderer adrift in cosmic limbo, 'On The Run' captures the anxious search for freedom and meaning against a backdrop of existential unease. Fusing prog, sci-fi textures and the stark visual drama of German Expressionism, Black Dahlia builds a sprawling piece of sonic theatre that feels both grand and suffocating. It channels the flamboyant theatricality of David Bowie and Lady Gaga, underpinned by the mechanised pulse of Kraftwerk and Nine Inch Nails, with the wonder of Daft Punk. Entirely self-written, produced, arranged and performed, 'On The Run' showcases an artist operating on her own fearless terms. With The Imposter set to manifest as a full theatrical experience through Australian and European tour dates in 2026, Black Dahlia isn't simply releasing music; she's building entire universes. This is music that demands total immersion, and surely a place on 6 Music's radar. Top stuff.
