Walk Away
Foreign Affairs
WE SAY
Back in late 2022, we introduced you to Bristol brothers Adam and Lawrence Purnell and their bluesy stomper 'Chained To Love'. Since then, Foreign Affairs have been grafting away on their debut album, and last Friday, 'Brothers' finally arrived. Produced by Jonas Westling (Lady Gaga, Newton Faulkner) alongside Lawrence at Humm Studios, the record weaves British roots, Americana and blues into 13 distinct tracks, including singles 'Move Your Body' and this uplifting, foot-stomping belter. It's easy to see why the duo have earned serious industry backing, including praise from blues icon Joe Bonamassa, multiple BBC Introducing 'Artist of the Week' features, Radio 2 plays from Bob Harris and Dermot O'Leary, and Spotify editorial playlist placements. The independently-released album follows an impressive run of sync placements across Champions League coverage, Sky Sports, BT Sport and the BBC, plus press support from Clash and Wonderland. With sold-out European headline dates and a 22-show tour supporting Grammy-nominated Larkin Poe under their belts, Foreign Affairs now step up for their first full-band headline show at The Water Rats, London on 2 November. Top stuff.
