Celebrations
We say
Last year, we were seriously impressed by north-west London’s Reem Mitten with the striking releases ‘Back To The Start Of It’ and ‘What The Hell’. Anchored by her distinctive vocal and an unflinching emotional honesty, those tracks paired sparse piano and guitar with cinematic, slow-burning textures to quietly devastating effect. She continues that momentum into 2026 with ‘Celebrations’, a poignant reflection on the loss of childlike wonder and the uneasy realities of growing up in the modern world. Channeling the emotional breadth of Adele and Sia, ‘Celebrations’ grows from a tender piano motif into a rich, melancholic swell, driven by a pounding bass, sweeping strings and warm, enveloping tones that allow Reem’s voice to shine. With previous radio support from Jess Izatt (BBC Introducing, BBC London), alongside praise from Dork, Atwood, Under The Radar, Loud Women and more, 'Celebrations' is sure to attract more tastemaker support. From London open mics to increasingly assured releases, Reem Mitten is steadily carving her own path. Collaborations with Dave McCracken and Luis Felber have helped refine a sound rooted in emotional clarity and restraint, and ‘Celebrations’ feels like another confident step forward. Reem will play Hoxton Colours in London on 4 February during a brief run of UK dates.
