Rosie
We say
Wrapped in a youthful, infectious energy, 'Rosie' is the emotionally charged pop banger from Sunderland's Lottie Willis. Raised through We Make Culture’s Young Musicians Project, the North East artist draws inspiration from Nieve Ella, Olivia Rodrigo, and The Japanese House. She's already earned support from BBC Introducing and Spotify's Fresh Finds playlist for previous releases, while racking up impressive live credits supporting Rag'n'Bone Man, Emeli Sandé, and Ellur, plus slots at Kendal Calling and regional festivals. Written spontaneously after watching It Ends With Us and produced in Sunderland with Connor Jobes (noyou), 'Rosie' captures the cinematic rush of connection between two people bound by "invisible strings". With its Springsteen-esque shimmer, soaring vocals, and anthemic chorus, the track has already become a live favourite and is tailor-made for plays on Radio 1's Future Pop, additions to new pop playlists at DSPs, and TV syncs. The first of four Sunderland-recorded singles, the track marks a confident new era for this emerging talent. If you're in and around Sunderland on 15 November, catch Lottie at the Independent as part of the Ripples Festival.
