We say

It’s just over a year since we last featured Irish musician Daire Patel with his song ‘everything you say’. That track saw him dabbling in acoustic folk-tinged R&B, and here he confidently strips everything back further with a sublime, woozy song that’s instantly likeable. It’ll evoke relatable thoughts in your mind of warm summer afternoons, chilling with friends, windows flung wide open, with the song chiming perfectly in sync with the flow of the gentle breeze. Reflective and nostalgic, lyrics like “stains from the mud that never came off” remind your of innocent days messing about when you were a kid, all now filtered through the reality of bittersweet recollection and a yearning of a 20-something for the simplicity of the past again. We're keen to hear his debut album 'What Means The World To You?' when it's released next month, hopefully then leading onto this and his other songs ideally being performed in an intimate live scenario. In the meantime, we continue to track his progress, and this deserves your immediate attention as we head into the weekend.
