We say

London-based band Mên An Tol continue to impress with 'Lucky', their second single from forthcoming EP 'This Land' (out 26 September). Where their last single 'Not Ideal' – produced by Fontaines D.C.’s Carlos O’Connell and playlisted at BBC 6 Music and backed by a Steve Lamacq session – showed the London five-piece at their most urgent, 'Lucky' drifts into blissed-out territory, carried by chiming mandolin and layered guitars. Drawing on '90s indie/alternative sounds and an anarchist folk edge, the track feels both timeless and quietly defiant as frontman Bill Jefferson reflects on the pressures of keeping up in a rigged system and instead finding contentment in simplicity. Expect to hear this across 6 Music soon and featured on alternative and indie playlists at DSPs. Since their debut single 'NW1' last year, Mên An Tol have earned support from Steve Lamacq, Huw Stephens, Emily Pilbeam and Radio 1’s Jess Iszatt, with praise from The Independent, Rolling Stone, DIY and more. Live, they’ve ticked off Glastonbury, The Great Escape and shows with The Libertines and Miles Kane. With 'This Land' and a UK tour with Cardinals imminent, 'Lucky' shows they are a band well worth keeping on your radar.
