Hollywood Sounds
We say
'Hollywood Signs' is the ethereal and evocative new offering from Ohio songwriter Kramies. Three years on from his self-titled LP, which saw Billboard christen him "The Dreampop Troubadour", he begins a bold new chapter with forthcoming album 'Goodbye Dreampop Troubadour'. Working almost entirely solo and guided by Grammy-winner Mario McNulty's atmospheric production, Kramies has traded his starry dreamscapes for something darker and more grounded. Released last week, 'Hollywood Signs' unfurls as a smoky, dusky affair laced with theatrical grandeur, drawing echoes of David Bowie, Mazzy Star and Nick Cave. A natural fit for plays on 6 Music and Radio 2, the track also carries strong potential for sync opportunities. Kramies has already earned tastemaker support from the likes of NME, Clash, NPR, Under The Radar and the BBC, and 'Hollywood Signs' feels poised to extend that acclaim even further.
