We say

We were instantly captivated by the hushed, soul-baring confession of heartbreak and longing on 'Wish I Didn’t Love You' by Houston-born singer-songwriter Love Spells (Sir Taegen Harris). Produced by Alex Craig (Roy Blair, After, Claud), its low-slung groove and smoky vocal delivery wrap around a warm, washed-out minimal arrangement, creating an intimacy that feels both raw and timeless. It’s the kind of track we can easily imagine soundtracking a pivotal TV or film moment, while slotting seamlessly into alternative DSP playlists and finding a home on specialist shows at Radio 1 and 6 Music. The track follows his widely praised 'EP The Love I Showed You Was Yours To Keep', which Clash hailed as “an impressive feat” and “definitive in its formation.” Just 20 years old, Love Spells has already earned co-signs from Lorde, Young Thug, The Marías, Dominic Fike and RM of BTS, while featuring on 10 tracks out of 19 on Kevin Abstract’s 'Blush' album, including standout '97 Jag' and 'Doggystyle'. With recent sold-out shows in Brooklyn and LA, plus tour dates alongside Sharon Van Etten and Dominic Fike, he’s rapidly emerging as one of 2025’s most distinctive new voices. A must listen.
