Donegal-born, Dublin-based singer-songwriter Lara Sweeney-Doherty, aka LARAbEL, delivers a spellbinding and deeply personal offering with ‘Pigeon Song’. It’s a haunting, slow-burning track that pairs her intimate lyricism with the ethereal harmonies of Celtic music legend Moya Brennan. Built around a delicate guitar melody and subtle ambient textures, the track unfolds with quiet grace, drawing the listener in through LARAbEL’s captivating vocal and a sense of restrained emotional power. Early tastemaker support has come from Hotpress, District, Goldenplec, and Dublin City FM, building on the momentum of her debut ‘Playground’, which earned playlist spots on Spotify’s Fresh Finds UK & IE, and A Breath of Fresh Eire, alongside airplay on RTÉ Radio 1, BBC Radio Ulster and BBC Radio Foyle. Now 23, LARAbEL has steadily been making her mark since moving to Dublin at 18 to study at BIMM and hone her craft busking on Grafton Street. In the past year, she’s graced stages at Glastonbury and Electric Picnic, and played a sold-out Whelan’s show. Next up, she’s set to release ‘Westcost’ in July, followed by her debut EP ‘Squiggle’ in August. One to watch for fans of Ben Howard, Sinéad O'Connor and Holly Humberstone.
