We say

London-based quartet Electric Litany have dropped ‘Diamonds’, a slow-burning post-punk gem blending DIY synths, Peter Hook-style basslines and the spectral tones of the Persian santoor. Co-produced with George Botis at Fish Factory Studios, it channels early Cure and New Order with a modern edge, as Alexandros Miaris’s haunting vocal threads through its layered, cinematic soundscape. Released last Friday (6 June), ‘Diamonds’ arrives with a beautiful lo-fi video shot on vintage BBC tube cameras – a fitting visual companion to the track’s retro-futuristic energy. First aired live at Burning Man’s Mayan Warrior stage in a set with Echonomist, this one’s tailor-made for spins on BBC 6 Music and Radio X, and it wouldn’t feel out of place on a moody drama sync or car advert either. Lifted from their forthcoming fourth LP ‘Desires’ (due this autumn), ‘Diamonds’ is an evocative preview of the band’s most ambitious work yet.
