We say

Cuban-Irish singer-songwriter Qbanaa is our next artist spotlight for SXSW London. Weaving neo-soul, Latin-jazz-infused pop and raw storytelling, Qbanaa crafts a rich, immersive, and emotionally resonant sound that bridges classic and contemporary influences. We’ve been avid supporters of her music since featuring the irresistibly hook-laden alt-pop track 'Best Time' last summer. Since then, she has released a string of striking singles, culminating in the release of her EP, 'Elisa', earlier this year. Co-written with Rafino Miguel Murphy, the EP explores the complexities of relationships, with herself, her family, and former partners, and includes the deeply personal ode '23.Abuelo'. Qbanaa’s music has earned praise from leading Irish tastemakers, including RTÉ 2FM, Hot Press, and GoldenPlec, as well as editorial support from Spotify. She was also named a 50 For The Future cover star by The Irish Times at the start of 2025. Having lit up the stages of Ireland’s biggest festivals—Electric Picnic, All Together Now, Cork Jazz, Forbidden Fruit, Other Voices, and Body & Soul—and following her appearance as RTÉ’s featured artist at Eurosonic Festival, Qbanaa now brings her mellifluous vocals and soul-stirring songwriting to London. Qbanaa will perform as part of SXSW London at Shoreditch Church on Monday 2 June at 4pm. Music Festival wristbands are available here.
