With the Great Escape kicking off fully today, we highly recommend you catch another of our Ones To Watch 2025 artists: Luvcat. From Liverpool’s backstreets to impromptu Parisian adventures, Luvcat has made quite a name for herself with her tales of escapism, lust and vaudevillian drama. Her gothic noir alternative sound – think Nick Cave’s brooding murder ballads meets Kate Bush’s dramatic flair and the dark romanticism of The Cure - has seen Luvcat tipped for great things by Spotify, Amazon Music, Rolling Stone, NME, Clash, Notion, Billboard, Independent, Wonderland, DIY and Dork, to name just a few. With over 25m streams to date for her first five singles - including her recent release ‘Lipstick’ that featured heavily across DSPs new releases last Friday, Luvcat has become one of the breakout names of the year. Tonight you can catch her performing at Chalk at 7.15pm and then tomorrow (Friday) at AWAL's Great Escape showcase at Komedia Basement at 9.30pm. After this, Luvcat will play 25 festivals in 20 countries this summer, including Glastonbury, Pukkelpop, Lowlands, Primavera Al Ciutat, and Rock en Seine.
