We say

Next in our artists to watch at the Great Escape festival this week is the brilliant Cairo-born, Manchester-raised, and now London-based artist Nxdia. Since first spotlighting them in 2023, we’ve been extolling the virtues of their intoxicating blend of vulnerable, introspective lyricism set against a backdrop of gritty guitars, shimmering synths, and throbbing beats. In that time, Nxdia has built up an impressive following for their brand of alt-pop, which has seen them amass over 80m streams (with 1.6m Spotify monthly listeners), alongside editorial features at Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and radio support from Radio 1 (Future Pop), 6 Music and Elton John’s Rocket Hour on Apple. Nxdia’s fearless exploration of queer love, identity and cultural belonging has also drawn tastemaker praise from Notion, NME, DIY, Dork, Huck, Hive and more. Ahead of their performance at TGE Beach – The Deep End stage on Thursday at 6.15pm - they’ve dropped this bold and intoxicating tale of desire. Next up, Nxdia will play numerous festivals this summer, including Latitude, Brighton Pride, BludFest, and TRNSMT, all while working on a debut mixtape release. If you’re looking for playful and riotous alt-pop with introspective lyrics, we recommend catching Nxdia live in Brighton this week.
