‘BeReal’ is the gritty new alt-pop offering from rising artist, songwriter and producer Amanda Cy. Written during the summer of 2022 and inspired by the UK drum’n’bass scene, the track opens with a simple guitar line and verse before exploding into a loud and addictive chorus. Taken from her second EP, ‘Waterworks’, which includes the Muna-inspired synth-pop anthem ‘Yangtze’ and the punchy ‘Know Nothing’, the track shows Amanda’s Swift-ian flair for songwriting and fearlessness for adopting and blending genres. Upon release last week, the track featured on Spotify and Apple Music editorial playlists. Further tastemaker praise has come from BBC Radio 1 Future Pop, Clash, PopJustice, DIY, The Line Of Best Fit and more. Alongside her music, she has also penned songs for LÉON, Paloma Faith, and Otto Knows. One to watch.
