Let’s share something rather special here from Jordan Ward, a LA-based singer, songwriter, MC and dancer. Having grown up in St. Louis singing and dancing around his neighbourhood, he joined a musical theatre and dance studio to learn ballet, tap, jazz and hip-hop. After moving to LA at 18, he began touring as a backup dancer for artists like Justin Bieber and Becky G before rekindling his love of singing. In 2017, he dropped his first EP before signing to Interscope in 2020, and last year released his debut album ‘Forward’, along with the deluxe version, ‘Moreward (Foreward), in October, which gained buzz here in the UK, as well as two sold out shows in London last December. His blend of soulful tones, bars and R&B vibes has seen him tipped in Spotify’s Artist To Watch 2024 and receive tastemaker praise from the likes of Hunger, Wonderland, Billboard, NPR, Complex, LA Times, Rolling Stone and more. Today (14 February), he has teamed up with Spotify and Soulection for their Spotify Valentine’s campaign to release a cover of Bob Marley & The Wailer’s classic song ‘Waiting In Vain’, and it’s sublime. If you haven’t yet heard his dulcet tones, we recommend this as a perfect first listen.
