Our final recommendation for an artist to watch at this year’s Eurosonic is London-based, Polish-American artist Berry Galazka. Nominated for this year’s Music Moves Europe Award (winner announced tonight), Berry produces music that flits between and blends distorted guitars with hard hitting hip hop drums and alt-pop goodness to create anti-pop-punk aesthetic. Polyster, The Independent, The Line Of Best Fit, DIY, Dork, and Earmilk are among her admirers, having praised her two EP releases, while Spotify made her a Radar UK artist on the launch of her second EP ‘Leash’ last year. Plus, radio support has come from Radio 1, BBC Introducing and BBC London. Released earlier this week (15 Jan), ‘The Shadow’ sees her lean into her hip hop R&B aesthetic with an alt-pop twist for a brilliant and exquisite listen. Berry will perform at the Grand Theatre tonight (18 Jan) at 20.50.
