Violently Ill
We say
‘Violently Ill’ is the hard-hitting and fiercely off-kilter slab of noise from DIY dance punk duo Polevaulter. Released yesterday (9 January) the track combines pulsating beats and glitchy electronics with intense repeating shouts to create a sound that recalls The Prodigy with a hint of Sleaford Mods. Written after being inspired by a trip to Tallinn last year, the track has all the elements to pick up plays on 6 Music and Radio X, along with alternative dance playlists additions at DSPs. Watch the video here. Previous tastemaker support has come from Louderthanwar and The Needle Drop. Later this month (26 January), the duo will release their debut album, ‘Hang Wave’ and then head out on a 12 date UK and EU tour, which includes a date at the Old Blue Last on 8 February.
