Finishing our final week of Ones To Watch 2024 before Christmas is songwriter, producer and artist Kamille. Having written hits for everyone from Little Mix and Dua Lipa, to Kylie Minogue and Stormzy, Kamille is one of the most successful women in music with a staggering 35 Platinum-selling singles, six UK No.1’s and over 10bn streams. This year, she concentrated on her solo material with the release of her eight-track debut mini-album ‘K1’. Written by her and self-produced, the mini-album sees her deliver a record of R&B pop anthems that pays homage to her youth listening to Motown classics and funk with her parents. It’s a brilliant listen, which includes the funk-infused single ‘Muscle Memory’ with Nile Rodgers and this ’90s-tinged R&B pop offering featuring Tamera and Bellah. The Observer, NME, Dork, Independent, and Evening Standard, to name just a few, have sung her praises this year while, on radio, her singles have been playlisted at Radio 1 and Radio 2, as well as been played on 1Xtra, Kiss Fresh and more. At DSPs, her music has been featured heavily across Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon editorial playlists, with songs written by Kamile amassing over 1.5bn streams in 2023 on Spotify alone. Alongside this, Kamille received the Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Song Collection. In a year in which she welcomed her first child, Kamille has led the charge for UK R&B pop, and with her already working on her follow up to ‘K1’, we expect more great things from this rising superstar in 2024.
