We say

Influenced by Avril Lavigne, Kelly Clarkson, Pink, and early Paramore, Glasgow’s Róisín McCarney has been making a name for herself on the Scottish scene over the last few months. Her country-rock inspired pop singles have seen her pick up a BBC Radio Scotland’s Track of the Week for ‘Sidelines’ and ‘Visions’, along with a ton of spins for ‘One Day’ and ‘Dance With The Devil’ on the station and at Amazing Radio. On the live front, she has been vowing fans at Scottish venues and small festivals, like Bute Fest and Mighty Boof. ‘Villain’ is her latest release and, once again, shows off her country-rock pop credentials with her gritty, lower register vocals singing about “being the bad guy in someone else’s story”. It’s a stonking number, deserving of support on new pop editorial playlists at DSPs and spins on radio south of the border, having already been played on BBC Scotland. This past weekend saw Róisín support her single release with shows at Glasgow’s Kings Tut's and Edinburgh’s Sneaky Pete's. For fans of Paramore, Stevie Nicks and Olivia Rodrigo.
