We say

‘White Horse’ is the first taste of country music superstar Chris Stapleton’s highly anticipated new album, ‘Higher’, out on 10 November. The album follows his 2020 release ‘Starting Over’, which saw him win three awards at the Grammys, Album of the Year honours at both the CMA and ACM Awards, and praise from Rolling Stone, Billboard, Esquire, Vulture, New York Times and more. With its country, bluesy sound layered with a more straight up, hooky rock guitar riff a la Lynyrd Skynyrd, ‘Higher’ sees Chris’s powerful soaring vocals offer an anthemic track tailor-made to cross genres. Co-written by Stapleton and Semisonic’s Dan Wilson, who previously collaborated on ‘When the Stars Come Out’, the single featured heavily across editorial playlists at DSPs on release (21 July) and is heavily picking up steam on radio stateside, along with plays on country stations here in the UK. The release tops off a remarkable year for Stapleton, having been named Entertainer of the Year at the ACM Awards and Male Vocalist of the Year at CMA Awards, and with the album release later this year, 2024 is only going to be bigger.
