I Don't Love You (Acoustic)
24 year old rising Scottish artist Christy is next up on our artists to watch later this week at The Great Escape. He may be familiar to some of you as we featured his arena-ready, ear-wormy pop singalong, In Denial, last November and was totally blown away by it. Having started out busking on the streets of Glasgow before landing a lead role in the indie film, Moondogs, and then a Paris-based Disney TV series, Christy is now back to doing what he loves, writing and performing soul-baring and earnest songs. With his first couple of singles, he has caught the attention of BBC, Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, Radio 1, BBC Introducing Scotland, Notion, Independent, Official Charts and more. This gorgeous, stripped back version of his recent single, I Don’t Love You, sung with only a piano accompaniment, is beautifully honest and tender, showing another side to his music. Over the past five days, Christy has been making his way down to The Great Escape Festival from Inverness in a Race Around the World style mission, armed with only £100, a tent, his musical talent and charm. He’s currently in Guildford (you can follow his journey on his TikTok), it’s safe to say he will make his two shows. First up is his show at Alphabet tomorrow (11 May) at 2.30pm, and then you can catch him at Brighthelm on Friday at 2.30pm.
