We’ve talked about admiration for the talented 18 year old Sunderland artist Tom A. Smith before at RotD, and with his latest release, Man Overboard, he’s done it again. Produced by Larry Hibbitt (The Snuts, Sea Girls, Lauran Hibberd), the track features on his latest release, EP2, and continues Tom’s broad and inventive approach to the indie-rock sound. The EP has so far seen Tom amass serious tastemaker support from the likes of BBC Radio 1 (Track of the Week, Next Wave & Future Artist), BBC 6 Music, Absolute Radio, Radio X, Triple J, Spotify, Apple and Deezer, to name just a few. Plus, online praise has come from Official Charts (OTW), Clash, Times, NME, Dork, Gigwise, Notion and Louder Than War. This summer has seen him support Elton John at his BST show, perform at Glastonbury, Barn On The Farm, F1 British Grand Prix, and this weekend, will see him open Leeds Festival. One to watch.
