Unrelenting, hard-hitting and full of infectious energy, Violet State Of Mind is the new single from alt-rockers Venus Grrrls. This latest song is the first track since the Leeds quintet dropped their 2021 Potions EP, which saw them receive tastemaker support from Radio 1 (Jack Saunders & Gemma Bradley), 6 Music (Huw Stephens), Radio X (John Kennedy), Spotify (Hot New Bands, Fresh Finds Rock & PRIDE:Punka) and a host of blogs. Drawing on the sounds of the ’90s Riot Grrrl bands, L7 and Bikini Kill, and blending it with the energy of Veruca Salt, Venus Grrrls bring a modern take on the nostalgic sound. Early support has come from punk and alt-rock blogs, but we expect it won’t be long till you hear this on the radio or on editorial playlists on Spotify. Watch the video here. Having supported All Time Low, Dream Wife, Crawlers, Black Honey and Saint Agnes, the group will be performing at Truck Festival and Kendall Calling.
