Dublin-based artist ORLA delivers a sumptuous slice of soulful pop in this her first single of 2022. Born in Belgium and surrounded by music from a young age, she moved to Ireland at seventeen and started as a backing vocalist before writing and performing her own songs in the city. Her first two singles, Close To Me and Lazy saw her pick up tastemaker praise from Irish blogs, as well as additions to Spotify UK New Music Friday and R&B Fresh playlists. Written by ORLA and produced by her regular collaborator Alex O’Keeffe, Carry Myself is a slick blend of soulful guitar lines, a boom bap beat and some gorgeous pop production. Early support has come from BBC ATL Introducing, BBC Radio Ulster and Hotpress, but it also deserves to feature on R&B and Pop playlists at DSPs. A solid, soulful pop gem.
