For those of you who may not know, Josh Ramsay is a songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and the lead vocalist and frontman of double-platinum selling group Marianas Trench. He’s co-written hits for 5 Seconds of Summer, Nickelback and Carly Rae Jepson (Call Me Maybe), to name just a few, and now today (8 April), Josh has released his debut solo album, The Josh Ramsay Show. It’s an impressive display of talent from Josh, who plays thirteen instruments on the album to craft songs from various genres, including EDM, sixties symphonic pop, Broadway, Vegas Swing and all-out chart pop. His album track, Lady Mine featuring Chad Kroeger, was an indie hit in Canada last year. Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music are already behind the Canadian star, having supported his singles with editorial additions to their playlists, and we expect more to come with the release of his album. For us, it is this vibrant, addictive and upbeat electronic-pop offering featuring Fionn, an emerging twin singer-songwriter female duo, that is the standout track. With great vocal performances, solid pop production, and so many earworms to keep it rattling around your head, all means every element is in place for global crossover potential with this.
