What If I
We last featured Weston-Super-Mare-based singer-songwriter, Luke Potter, back in May 2019 with his Ultra Records release Healing. Since then, he has co-written and featured on Josef Bamba’s Calms Me Down (350k streams), worked on new solo songs and written and produced tracks for artists like Southridge Heights, Tye Pickett-Wright and previously RotD featured artist Jacob Browne. Now back with his latest solo record (co-written with Swedish friends and collaborators Marcus Lindberg and Hjalmar Wilen), What If I sees Luke contemplating the ending of a longterm relationship, backed by a touching ’80s-esque piano melody. With its slower pace than his previous dance/pop orientated tracks, the ballad shows off another side to this versatile and talented singer, songwriter and producer. With over 20m combined streams and tastemaker support from the likes of Spotify and BBC Radio 2, Luke is ready to make a big push on all fronts in 2021 with new solo material and writing/production credits set to be released, so keep an eye out.
