We say

Our next Ones To Watch 2020 this week is Elephant & Castle-based singer, songwriter, producer and performer Joy Crookes. It’s been almost a year since this gorgeous and soulful number put her on our radar and also started a phenomenal twelve months for the young artist. She released two fantastic EPs, Reminiscence and Perception this year, as well as the brilliant RotD-featured single Early that has helped her generate over 20m global streams, 8m YouTube views and sell 3,000 tickets for her debut UK and EU tour. Covers with Rollacoaster and ES Magazine came swiftly after fronting Stella McCartney’s Beatles inspired collection, while TV performances at Glastonbury and on Later with Jools balanced the unwavering support at both specialist and daytime radio at Radio 1 and 1Xtra. Her dulcet tones and modern approach to storytelling through song has been, for us, one of the highlights of the year. With YouTube, Vevo, MTV and Amazon all tipping her for big things next year, plus a BRITs Rising Award nomination too, it seems we are not the only ones either. Classic yet modern soul for everyone.
