We say

London-based singer-songwriter FERGUS shapes a rather beautifully evocative and melodramatic listen in his second EP, Three Of Swords. Having spent his formative years singing and touring professionally with choirs and playing the cello with orchestras, last year he released his first EP after a time away from music seeking self-discovery. His debut EP Purple Road quickly gained praise for his stark and solemn songwriting from the likes of Clash, Atwood Magazine and When The Horn Blows among others, as well as amassing over 600k streams. Released today (7 August) and produced by Jake Gosling (Ed Sheeran, James Bay), his new 6-track EP continues his journey and is split into two halves, blending soaring melodies with dreamy instrumentation and a dark smattering of electronics. For us though, it's this haunting and melancholic number with its pulsing beat and eerily soaring chorus that is the EP’s standout track, and one that would be perfect for a Netflix drama TV series or film. Radio support for the EP has so far come from 6Music, BBC Introducing, and Radio X, while a live session with BBC Introducing Three Counties is planned for September. Having recently finished a six month residency at London’s Cocoa Vaults and played shows for Fresh On The Net, the Green Note, Sofar Sounds and the Bedford, he will be announcing more London dates soon, but for now, just enjoy this gorgeous track and EP.
