We say

Welcome to a new week and what better way to start it off than by introducing you to a new band that has caught our ear recently. Young Braves are four lads from Shropshire, consisting of brothers Ollie and Elliot Scott, Jacob Ferguson and Max Powell. They started playing together when they were at school, but it’s only over the last eighteen months or so that they have started a real push as Young Braves. This dystopian blast of anthemic alternative indie-pop is their latest release and its layered swooping guitar riffs, driving percussion and soaring keys make it incredibly liberating. Soundwise, there’s a touch of October/War-era U2 mixed with The Temper Trap and Kings of Leon. Early support has come from BBC Introducing Shropshire who have named it their Record of the Week. Previous single Sleep It Off picked up plays on BBC 6 Music and Huw Stephens' Radio 1 Introducing show, as well as featured on Spotify’s Hot New Bands playlist. No London shows at the moment, but they will be playing a show in Birmingham on 24 August at the Flapper, having previously supported The Amazons and The Sherlocks. Soaring melodies and guitar hooks full of passion, 1984 is an indie banger that makes us feel young again.
