Cinematic and moody, this beautiful song from Honey Gentry conjures up comparisons to Lana Del Rey at her most personal, and is getting the unsigned musician noticed in all the right places. NME’s 100 Essential Artists for 2019 feature piece described her as "the rising singer-songwriter making elegantly sad pop to break your heart”. Heaven California, the first single from her debut Moonlight EP featured last summer in Spotify’s Fresh Finds: 6 Strings playlist. This and her other tracks notched up over 169,000 combined Spotify streams, and now she’s preparing follow-up EP titled Dreamlover, due in July. After opening recently for Tanukichan at the Sebright Arms, and Vera Sola at the Lexington, word is spreading. Honey’s currently seeking publishing and label interest, as well as live representation and management enquiries. We wouldn’t be surprised if a few sync people start falling over themselves to nab this track for TV and film too. Dramatic, quietly restrianed, and with a melancholic undertone that pervades throughout, Honey's star is truly in the ascendancy.
