We say

This exceptionally gorgeous and dreamy psychedelic indie number is from Brighton-based SAD FUNERAL and is the alias of Adam Kane, who was previously the vocalist in the bands’ Cave Painting (Mercury/Sony) and COMPNY (Universal). After a lengthy break from music, Adam decided to start writing songs for himself and over the last year has been working with producer Rob Flynn (Oslo Parks) to record them with further production from Barny Barnicott (Bombay Bicycle Club/Temper Trap). Full of warm textures and wispy soundscapes, Gone is a tale of a relationship turned sour and is a luscious blend of chiming guitars, soft percussion, and a hypnotic bass line. With a sound reminiscent of Wye Oak, The War On Drugs and a touch of Beach House, it is perfect for new indie and hazy mellow contextual playlists and has already been given the thumbs up by Alt-J, as well as early spins on BBC Introducing South. It's early days but we reckon on the back of this brilliant release and with an EP on the way, there will be a lot of interest.
